Revitalized Spaces, Happier Residents

After purchasing Apple Valley Place of Charles City, Senior Housing Consultants completed an expansive renovation project of the interior of the building. The community witnessed numerous improvements that benefited not only quality of life but also improved life safety for the residents.

One of the biggest improvements to life safety was the investment of a nurse call system in which we partnered with Securitas Healthcare to improve on the response time to resident needs.

The community had a major lighting overhaul which replaced all lighting from fluorescent bulbs and fixtures to all LED. This improvement is significant to resident safety as an increase in overall lighting has reduced elderly slips, trips and falls by 79%.

Apple Valley Place of Charles City had a complete renovation of all common area flooring and painting as well as all new dining room furniture.

During the renovation the community had a shower room converted to a relaxation and therapy room with a state of the art spa which allows residents a calming resort like experience.

The community has seen numerous changes over the past year and half with the top one being resident care and satisfaction which has seen occupancy increase from 50% to 95%. This can be contributed to not just the improvements of the building but the amazing staff and leadership of Better Living Management.
